A group of young girls gathered in Istanbul's Taksim Square yesterday to call on Canadian pop star Justin Bieber to stage a concert in Turkey.

Justin Bieber fans, or "Beliebers" as they call themselves, gathered in front of Republic Monument at Taksim Square waving posters of the singer, news portal Nethabercilik.com reported.

The group called for the young heartthrob to perform his catchy pop tunes in Turkey, claiming he has travelled on tour to every other country except for Turkey. Police officers dispatched to Taksim Square on reports of a demonstration were surprised to see young girls crowding the street singing some of Bieber’s most well known songs, including “Baby.” Additional Bieber fans passing by stopped to sing alongside the demonstrating "Beliebers."
