Turkey condemns Russia, Assad regime for hitting civilian targets in Aleppo
AFP photoTurkey strongly condemned on June 9 aerial attacks by Russia and the Syrian regime against civilian targets, including hospitals, schools and mosques, in Aleppo, calling the attacks “crimes against humanity.”
“We are indignantly observing that air attacks carried out by Russia and the Syrian regime towards hospitals, schools, mosques and other civilian residential areas continue mercilessly. We condemn vehemently attacks that have been conducted since yesterday that targeted hospitals and caused the loss of 10 of lives in Aleppo,” the Foreign Ministry said in a written statement on June 9.
A hospital that had been functioning in the Shaer district of Aleppo was entirely destroyed, the ministry said, adding such an offensive has no place in humanity and would not go unpunished.
The statement called on the international community to act to stop such attacks, which it described as a “black stain” on the history of humanity, while expressing its demand to bring all those who are responsible of such crimes against humanity to justice.
