In the fourth year of her death, Italian performance artist and peace activist Giuseppina Pasqualino di Marineo, known as Pippa Bacca, who was raped and murdered in Turkey in 2008 when hitchhiking with a wedding dress from Italy to Israel, will be remembered with a photography exhibition, daily Milliyet reported.

Many famous people from Turkey, wearing wedding dresses as “peace brides,” posed for the exhibition that will open tonight during the gala of a theater play, titled “Yollu,” featuring the life of Bacca. 

Creative director of the exhibition is Ali Ömür Ulusoy ad photos have been taken by Erbil Balta. Among the names in the project are Gülriz Sururi, Nedim Saban, Toprak Sergen, Mesut Yar, Bahadır Baruter, Baba Zula, Çiğdem Vitrinel, Ufuk Özkan and Şahika Ercümen. 

Bacca was killed in the western province of Kocaeli when hitchhiking through the country as part of a world tour for world peace with her friend Silvia Moro.

Suspect Murat Karataş was given a life sentence for murder.
