New Year's lottery prize set at 50 million Turkish Liras

The New Year’s grand lottery prize has been raised to 50 million Turkish Liras ($25 million) by the National Lottery, reaching the all-time highest amount.

There will be also a 5 million liras prize, a 3 million liras prize, a 2 million liras prize, a 1 million lira prize and five 500,000 liras prize on the New Year’s special draw, Recep Biçer, the General Manager of the National Lottery, said in an interview yesterday.

Biçer said they raised the grand lottery prize to 50 million liras with a 5 million liras rise from the previous year.

He noted the lottery ticket prices also increased in parallel with the rise in the prize. The price of a full ticket rose from 40 liras to 50 liras; meaning half a ticket costs 25 liras and the quarter ticket costs 12.5 liras.

The tickets for New Year’s special draw will be introduced for sale after the next draw on Nov. 29, he said.
