Italian football giants buy towels from Turkish firms

Denizli, a province in Turkey’s Aegean region, produces towels and bathrobes for Italy’s top football clubs Milan, Juventus and Inter. The bath accessories are designed specifically with the team’s logos and colors.

Denizli earns more than $550 million in towel and bathrobe exports, according to the Anatolia news agency. President of the Denizli Exporters Union Süleyman Soysert said towels, bathrobes, kitchen towels and bedding provide 48.4 percent of the union’s exports.

They export to countries such as Italy, England, France, the U.S., Holland, Austria, Iraq, Spain and Israel.

“Denizli sends products with original logos to football, basketball and other international championships. These products are also sold in many stores around the world,” Soysert said. “I am sure that in the coming years we will add many new clubs in Spain and Italy.”
