Cep Art Gallery to host Erdinç Babat exhibition

The Cep Art Gallery at The Marmara Pera is hosting a solo exhibition by young Turkish contemporary artist Erdinç Babat titled “Müşkülpesent” between Jan. 12 and Feb 12. In his recent works, Babat has been focusing on the dissatisfaction caused by the reflections on artificiality caused by popular culture and imposed lifestyles as reflected in female bodies. Contrasted with his earlier work where pure colors cover wide areas and large figures of abstractions were employed, his latest paintings showcase a plainer usage of pure colors in smaller details that are compatible with the concepts he is trying to emphasize.The frigidity of the figures which reveals itself as a result of enforced artificiality demands viewers’ particular attention for a comprehensive understanding of the works.
