26 Turkish nationals accused of alleged terror links caught en route to Greece
Border protection guards apprehended the group separated in six cars, crossing the northwestern Doyran village near the the Meriç (Evros) River separating the two countries in the early morning, the agency reported.
The Turkish nationals who were first examined in the cars and then were detained include children, expelled teachers and former law enforcement officials, the report said.
Ankara accuses FETÖ, led by U.S.-based cleric and once an ally of the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s government Fethullah Gülen, of having masterminded the deadly coup attempt of July 15, 2016.
Since the putsch attempt, the Turkish state has launched a sweeping crackdown in the judiciary and other state institutions.
