Workers trapped underground at drainage construction site in southern Turkey

Workers trapped underground at drainage construction site in southern Turkey Workers were trapped under a mound of soil after a collapse at a drainage construction site in the southern province of Kahramanmaraş on Dec. 30.

The accident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. during the construction of a drainage pipeline on Gençosman Avenue, which is being built by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works.

Search and rescue teams have been dispatched to the scene.
