Turkey receives season’s first snowfall

Turkey received the season’s first snowfall on Nov. 21 in the capital Ankara and in the northwestern province of Bolu following heavy rain.

In Ankara, snowfall was witnessed early in the morning in the Dikmen, Oran, İncek and Ahlatlıbel areas of the Çankaya district.

The Ankara Municipality has taken precautions, while officials warned the drivers to remain careful in the wake of snow.

In Bolu, snowfall affected traffic on the Anadolu Highway and the Bolu Mountain section of the D-100 highway.

The snow reached up to 10 centimeters (nearly four inches) and traffic teams warned people to take caution while driving.
