A secondary school in the Aegean province of Denizli used the photo of a cannabis field on its website in a campaign to promote the love of nature among students.

The photo was immediately removed from the website of the Hisar village’s secondary school after the School Principal Ahmet Başdoğan was notified on the matter.

Principal Başdoğan said that the website was designed by a volunteer teacher and the section entitled “Love the green” was aimed at promoting love for the environment. “We used photos downloaded from the internet on the website,” he said, adding that they immediately removed the photo claimed to depict a cannabis plant.
