Firefighters and teams from the Istanbul Gas Distribution Industry and Trade Incorporated Company (İGDAŞ) were soon dispatched to attend to the problem.

Citizens and shopkeepers situated in close proximity to the scene were evacuated from their houses and offices.

İGDAŞ issued a statement, saying necessary measures were being taken.

“İGDAŞ teams arrived at the scene following a warning call from the 87 Gas Emergency Line and halted the gas flow. All necessary precautions have been taken. All streets have access to natural gas despite the accident,” the statement read.

Security measures have been taken around the construction site. Teams are working to discharge the gas from the pipeline.
