Lighthouse prosecutors face prison time

The Supreme Court of Appeals has accepted an indictment against three prosecutors who were removed from the embezzlement probe into the Deniz Feneri (Lighthouse) charity. They will be put on trial on May 4 in Ankara.

The prosecutors were removed from the case in controversial circumstances and sued over alleged abuse of authority and forgery. 

The indictment seeks up to 11 years in prison for Prosecutor Nadi Türkaslan and also demands that all three be banned from practicing their profession.
