Jamie Oliver 'happy' to step onto Istanbul's food stage with new restaurant

Possibly the most famous chef on the small screen, Jamie Oliver, has given details of the plans for his new restaurant that is set to open in Istanbul, in an interview published in daily Hürriyet April 20. 

The British chef said they had met with positive reactions ever since they started working on opening "Jamie's Italian," which will be his first restaurant in Turkey.

"As far as I have seen, the restaurants in Istanbul are developing and international brands are coming, which renders the town more lively and exciting. I am happy to take that stage," Oliver said, adding that he was aware of Turkey's "very important food legacy."

He also added that the restaurant was designed to be a place where people would be able to come with their family to eat quickly and well. "We have focused on creating a restaurant that people will love," he said.
