Istanbul Film Festival to honor veterans

The 31st Istanbul Film Festival’s Honorary Awards will be presented to director Ali Özgentürk, artists Ayşen Gruda and Halit Akçatepe and Turkey’s first female film critic Sevin Okyay.

The festival will take place between March 31 and April 15. The awards will be given during the opening ceremony, which will take place March 30 at the Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center.

Ali Özgentürk started his career with documentaries. His films reflect questions about identity and the search for identity. Ayşen Gruda is one of the most prominent figures in Turkish cinema. Daily Radikal’s cinema writer and columnist Sevin Ökyay, on the other hand, still writes film reviews. Halit Akçatepe another prominent figure in Turkish cinema will also receive an honorary award.
