Gülenists still active in chambers, stock markets: Ankara Chamber of Industry head

Gülenists are still actively working in chambers and stock markets, Ankara Chamber of Industry head Nurettin Özdebir claimed on Oct. 8.

Özdebir said they have provided the authorities a list of names alleged to have links to the Gülen network, believed to have orchestrated last year’s coup attempt, in the chamber and those allegedly cooperating with them.

Özdebir said they have provided the authorities a list of names alleged to have links to the Gülen network, believed to have orchestrated last year’s coup attempt, in the chamber and those allegedly cooperating with them.

“We have provided a list regarding this matter. Then everyone heard about this list. Those whose names were on that list have threatened me,” Özdebir told a group of journalists in the Turkish capital Ankara.

When asked if the chamber had the authority to expel these names, Özdebir said, “We only invite them to resign. If they resign, they do. If they do not, there is nothing to be done.”

Also asked why there was an increase in the number of firms in Ankara, Özdebir said, “At least 10 people need to be employed to register a trade chamber. Ankara is a special case.”
