Eurozone inflation jumps to 2.5 pct in March as energy prices surge

Eurozone inflation leaped in March owing to surging energy prices caused by the Middle East war, official data showed Tuesday, the highest level since January 2025.

Consumer prices rose by 2.5 percent in March, sharply up from 1.9 percent in February. The figure is slightly lower than the 2.6 percent forecast by analysts for Bloomberg and 2.7 percent predicted by economists for FactSet.
