CHP targets minister

ANKARA
Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) introduced a censure motion for Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yıldız on Friday, suggesting that the minister was responsible for the participation of convicted people in state tenders.

Yıldız has legal responsibility for giving tenders concerning the search and management of boron salts, which should have been conducted by the state, to people who are not qualified to take part in public tenders, the CHP said in its justification for the motion. Among the participants were people who were previously charged with forming and participating in an organization in order to commit a crime, as well as those charged with giving and taking bribes, the CHP said.
