A British citizen has been detained while attempting to cross into Syria from the Turkish border town of Kilis.

The governor’s office in the southeastern province of Kilis said in a written statement that the person, identified only by the initials M.P., was detained by Turkish soldiers in the Akçabağlar village while attempting to illegally cross into Syria, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
