As part of its 150th anniversary, Boğaziçi University will host many renowned academics, artists, writers and historians with its “Boğaziçi Chronicles” program. The program was launched at a meeting yesterday.

In order to celebrate the its sesquicentennial anniversary and bring the vibrant intellectual atmosphere of the campus into broader public focus, new residency programs host established, as well as emerging writers, artists and thinkers on its campus in Bebek. This year the university will host Susan Buck-Morss, Akram Zaatari, Juliana Hodkinson, Michael Hardt, Amitav Ghosh and Alberto Manguel. While speaking at the first conference, the rector of the university Gülay Barbarosoğlu said their aim was to contribute to the culture life of Turkey. Boğaziçi Chronicles is a residency program where the length of stay, the range of engagements expected from the resident, and the types of outputs generated by the visit are decided together by the officials.
