Bahçeli: PM legitimized PKK leader

ANKARA - Hürriyet Daily News
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli accused Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of legitimizing the jailed leader of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Bahçeli released a written statement hours after imprisoned PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan called for a cease-fire in a message read out during a mass celebration of the Nevruz holiday in Diyarbakır yesterday.
“The Turkish nation will not forget this day throughout its entire life and will never forgive the ciphers of separation voiced in squares or the separatist faces,” Bahçeli said.

According to the opposition leader, the government has offered the terrorist organization each and every thing that the organization could not get through arms and violence. “The prime minister’s legitimization of the terrorist chief and having his leadership approved by an idle crowd is another frustrating aspect of the matter. The prime minister and his government legalized the PKK discord, which tries to reach its strategic goals via enmity to the Turkish nation, and laid the ground for [the PKK’s] politicization,” Bahçeli said.
