A major crisis surfaced in the Spor Toto Super League club Trabzonspor July 28, one day before a Europe League qualification stage game.

In the wake of reactions to his July 28 decision to leave the club’s first-choice goalkeeper Onur Kıvrak out of the squad, the club’s sportive director, Süleyman Hurma, left the team’s camp and returned to Turkey, announcing his resignation. The team was in Macedonia for a Europa League third qualifying round game tonight against Rabotnicki.

Following Hurma’s resignation, Trabzonspor coach Shota Arveladze, who took the helm earlier this month, decided to leave his post, sports daily Fanatik reported yesterday. According to the report, Arveladze was persuaded to stay at least until after tonight’s match.
