ISTANBUL signs jersey deal with Fenerbahçe


Turkey’s Fenerbahçe, the runner-up in last year’s domestic Spor Toto Super League, has signed a jersey partnership deal with, a leading legal online betting portal. 

Halit Gülbakanoğlu, general manager of, said in a joint press conference with the club on Aug. 16 that the platform was the leading website in its category and that sponsoring the famous Fenerbahçe football club was very important for it. 

The general manager said the portal was sponsoring the Euroleague, Europe’s top club basketball challenge, and Eurocup, the second-tier continental basketball competition. 

Önder Fırat, a deputy chairman at the club, announced that would be the main jersey sponsor for a year. 

“We have big goals this season as in all seasons, and we are marching toward them. The economy is a must for such goals,” he said, adding that the sponsor was part of a large group, referring to parent company Doğan Holding. 

“If you are one of the biggest clubs, then you have to move forward with the biggest companies. This is a beautiful and important deal,” Fenerbahçe’s Dutch star Robin van Persie said at the press conference. 

Fenerbahçe’s experienced goalkeeper and captain, Volkan Demirel, said he hoped both parties would benefit from the deal. 

“We are looking forward to receiving our fans’ support,” he said. 

Fenerbahçe’s summer signing Gregory van der Wiel was also present at the meeting.
