Keşan footballers die in accident

Supporters and locals gathered in front of Keşan Belediyespor headquarters yesterday to express their sorrow and show solidarity with the club. The team competes in the regional amateur league.
Two players, 20-year-old Güner Yıldız and 21 year-old Can Çetinkaya died when the bus carrying the squad reportedly veered off the road due to a combination of speed and heavy rain as the team traveled to Alanya for a mid-season training camp. Twenty-two other people were injured in the accident.
Many football clubs, including Medical Park Antalyaspor, Mersin İdman Yurdu and Adana Demirspor, as well as Sports Minister Suat Kılıç, issued statements expressing their sorrow for the deaths of the sportsmen.
Four Trabzonspor supporters killed in accident
Meanwhile, four Trabzonspor supporters, who were travelling to Istanbul from Kocaeli to watch their team play against Istanbul BB, died in a traffic accident on Jan. 7. Trabzonspor posted an obituary for the supporters on its official website.
