HDP announces 12 female candidates out of 31 provinces

The People’s Democratic Party (HDP) announced on Jan. 17 its municipal candidates for the local elections scheduled to take place in March.

The HDP, which is a sister party of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), announced its candidates for 31 municipalities, including 12 female candidates. Six of the female candidates are announced for the position of co-chair.

The party announced co-chairing candidates in six provinces such as: Adana, Ankara, İzmir, Kırşehir, Manisa and Yalova.

Sırrı Süreyye Önder and Pınar Aydınlar are announced as candidates for the Istanbul Municipality’s co-chair position. 

Ankara mayoral office’s co-chair candidates are Salman Kaya and Songül Erol Abdil.
