An Istanbul courth has released three suspects, including Hayrettin Ertekin, Muzaffer Şenocak and Bora Ballı, in an alleged coup plot case while rejecting the pleas of arrested MP Mehmet Haberal, Mustafa Balbay and former Chief of Staff İlker Başbuğ.

Ergenekon is an alleged ultranationalist gang accused of plotting to overthrow the pro-Islamist AKP government by fomenting chaos in society.
