U.S. President Donald Trump wished President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan success for the Organization of Turkic States summit during a phone call on Oct. 29, their second conversation in two days.
Trump called while Erdoğan was hosting visiting leaders at a Republic Day dinner in Ankara, the Communications Directorate said.
Erdoğan conveyed the leaders’ greetings and said the organization’s 13th summit would adopt decisions to strengthen the organization, which he described as a source of stability and security in Central Asia.
U.S. Ambassador to Türkiye Tom Barrack, who also serves as special envoy for Syria and Iraq, said on X that the call built on the dialogue among leaders gathered at the dinner.
Barrack highlighted the Turkic states’ position on energy, trade and transport routes linking Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Their partnership was central to the two presidents’ shared vision of “a region built on commerce, not conflict,” he said, adding that stronger partnerships and continued cooperation would support regional peace, stability and prosperity.
