Referee Aydınus will not quit

Fırat Aydınus will not quit refereeing due to the furor around a decision he made over the weekend, NTV Spor said yesterday.Aydınus, who is one of Turkey’s top two football referees with Cüneyt Çakır, came under criticism after sending off Fenerbahçe midfielder Caner Erkin for no apparent reason during a league match against Eskişehirspor on Nov. 17.
Amid media criticism, state-run TRT Spor reported that Aydınus was going to consider quitting refereeing after officiating tonight’s Champions League game between Arsenal and Montpellier.
However, NTV Spor reported that despite the pressure, Aydınus wanted to continue.
