Mehldau Trio plays for fans in Istanbul

World-famous American jazz pianist Brad Mehldau, known for his innovative and imaginative interpretations, will take the stage at İş Sanat on March 8. Mehldau blends various genres, such as rock, jazz and classic music, with his own unique style and occupies an important place in the contemporary jazz world. He is considered to be one of the most distinguished and creative jazz pianists of his generation, following in the footsteps of such legends as Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea and McCoy Tyner.Mehldau has been steadily touring the world since the mid-1990s, both with his trio and as a solo pianist. The trio’s repertoire includes a mix of original compositions, jazz standards and jazz arrangements of popular music, especially rock music, and has recorded arrangements of the music of Nick Drake, The Beatles, Radiohead and Paul Simon, among others. Mehldau pushes the limits of jazz with his extraordinary repertoire and wide range of expression.
