Liquids restricted on domestic lines of THY

ISTANBUL - Hürriyet Daily News
The transport of liquids onboard domestic flights is to be restricted in accordance with international aviation rules, the Turkish civil aviation authority announced yesterday.

According to the new regulation of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, passengers will be permitted to carry only one liter of liquid material in their cabin baggage but will be allowed to carry an unlimited amount in their checked baggage.

The new regulation goes into effect March 1 on domestic flights to and from Istanbul’s Atatürk and Sabiha Gökçen airports and on April 1 on all other domestic flights.

Passengers are required to place their liquids in a clear plastic bag whose dimensions do not exceed 20 centimeters by 20 centimeters. Each liquid in the plastic bag is restricted to 100 milliliters in quantity.
Every passenger is allowed to carry only one plastic bag onboard. “Regardless of its content, a product bigger than 100 milliliter in volume will not be allowed in cabin baggage,” the announcement said.
