Champions League: Lokomotiv Moscow beat Galatasaray 2-0

Russian football club Lokomotiv Moscow defeated Turkey's Galatasaray 2-0 on Nov. 28 in a UEFA Champions League Group D match in Moscow.

During the match at Stadion Lokomotiv, Lokomotiv's Polish midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak gave his team the lead in the 43rd minute, with the first half ending 1-0.

The Russian side doubled its score in the second half when a shot by midfielder Vladislav Ignatyev in 54th minute got past Galatasaray's goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

Galatasaray beat Lokomotiv Moscow 3-0 in their first match in Istanbul on Sept. 18.

Galatasaray's other opponent in Group D, Portugal's Porto, secured a 3-1 victory late Wednesday against Germany's Schalke 04.

Porto top Group D with 13 points, followed by Germany's Schalke 04 with 8 points. Galatasaray are in third place with 4 points while Lokomotiv Moscow are in last place with 3 points.

Galatasaray will host Porto on the group's final match day on Dec. 11 as the Istanbul side aims to advance to the UEFA Europa League
