Alper Maral Multiphonic Ensemble pays tribute

John Cage, the extraordinary composer and music philosopher paved the way for radical changes in the definition of music through his work and ideas. There have been many events held throughout the world in 2012 to commemorate the centenary of the great composer and music researcher. In Turkey renowned composer and musicologist Alper Maral will give a commented concert with the Alper Maral Multiphonics Ensemble at the Borusan Music House, where they will focus on one of Cage’s most significant contributions to music: his works emphasizing indetermination in music. Another precious feature of this concert will be the rendering of “Now,” a commission of Hessischer Rundfunk to Maral. This work, which is based on a speech made by Cage regarding present time, is a tribute to the composer
