‘The Resting Room’ at Cannes

While Turkish director Semih Kaplanoğlu is included in the short film jury of the festival, “The Resting Room,” directed by Hakan Burcuoğlu, is set to be included in the short film section. The movie is about a lonely man who has chosen to confine himself to his one-bedroom apartment in the hope of escaping the realities of a dystopian state. However, he is then triggered to make an impulsive decision to go to the “Resting Room” - a government operated institution that serves as a painless suicide service for the masses. Ruhi Sarı plays in the leading role. Music was composed by Rahman Altın.
