Raids rage on following killing of AKP MP’s brother

ŞIRNAK
Justice and Development Party (AKP) Şırnak deputy Mehmet Emin Dindar’s brother Ramazan Dindar, who was killed in an armed attack in the southeastern province of Şırnak’s Cizre district, was buried yesterday.

Dindar was attacked by an unidentified person or persons while he was shopping on the evening of Aug. 18. He died on the way to Dicle University Medical Faculty Hospital. Dindar’s body was returned to Cizre after an autopsy was done at the hospital. Agriculture Minister Mehdi Eker attended the funeral prayer, which was performed at Cizre Ulu Mosque. After the prayer, Dindar’s body was buried at Cizre Asri Cemetery. Meanwhile, it was reported that AKP Şırnak deputy Mehmet Emin Dindar could not attend his brother’s funeral since he was abroad for an umrah visit.

Eker said the investigation into the attack was ongoing. “Nothing is clear yet, but the person’s identity is apparent from the visual records. Research and investigations are ongoing. The second provincial deputy head from the AKP lost his life in a bloody attack within the last few months in Şırnak.”
