ADANA - Doğan News Agency
A court reduced the sentence of a man who killed a woman from life to 15 years because the man claimed that the victim swore at and cheated on him.

The man, Mikail Uskaner, 43, shot his lover, Emrah Dil, 41, on Aug. 23 in the southern province of Adana. The Adana 9th Court for Serious Crimes, which first demanded a life sentence for the convict, reduced the charge to 15 years on the grounds that he committed the murder under unjust provocation.

Victim Emrah Dil, a divorced mother of two, had a love affair with Uskaner, who is married with three children. According to claims, during such a quarrel, Dil said she wanted to break up with him, upon which he shot her in the middle of a street with an unlicensed gun.
