Bodrum Golf Club wins interclub title in Belek
Members of the Bodrum Golf Club receive their trophy from Fikret Öztürk. DHA photoBodrum Golf Club claimed the title at the Fikret Öztürk Interclub Championships, played over the weekend at the Carya Golf Club in Turkey’s up-and-coming golf resort Belek.
Bodrum Golf Club reached the title ahead of runner-up Taurus Golf Club and third-placed Ankara Golf Club.
The event was played with the participation of 12 golf clubs, including one from Turkish Cyprus, at the 7,186-yard, par 72 course at the Carya Golf Club, which is a demanding test of golfing strategy with free flowing holes that run between pine and eucalyptus trees and across a dramatic sand ridge.
The course will be home to the Turkish Airlines Open, an event on the European Tour, for three years beginning in 2016.
National Golf Club, meanwhile, will once again host the Turkish Ladies Open, the Turkey leg of the Ladies European Tour (LET), next June.
