Armed men in burqas caught after robbery attempt in Turkey’s southeast Two male armed robbers who attempted to rob a jewelry store in burqas were caught in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır, the Governor’s Office has announced.

The Diyarbakır Governor’s Office said in a written statement that two of the three suspects, who were involved in armed robberies in three gas stations and a jewelry store, were caught in simultaneous operations conducted in six different addresses, while the other suspect is on the run.

The two robbers were later arrested.

One pistol, one pump riffle, one blank firing gun, 43 cartridges, 35 grams of cannabis material, 0.85 grams of heroin material, 22 stolen cell phones, two stolen tablets and one stolen laptop were seized in the operations, according to the statement.

Meanwhile, security footages showed two armed robbers in burqas fleeing after a failed armed robbery attempt after the jeweler responded to the robbers.
