VIDEO: Public bus explodes in Istanbul after crashing into overpass

A public bus in Istanbul crashed into a railway overpass early June 21, starting a fire which caused the bus to explode.The compressed natural gas-operated bus crashed into the 2.8-meter-high suburban railway overpass in the Fatih district of Istanbul around 7:00 a.m., eventually causing the bus to explode. Shortly afterward a second explosion was heard as firefighters were trying to extinguish the fire, which had engulfed the bus in an instant.
Yakup Tunç, the bus’ driver, was injured in the fire and taken to a nearby hospital.
In addition, the bus’ gas cylinder was launched about 300 meters by the force of the explosion, hitting the side of a minibus which was stopped at a red light. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the explosion.
