Turkish coast guards repulse Greek guards ‘harassing’ fishing boats

ANKARA

Turkish coastguard boats have repulsed a Greek coastguard boat that was harassing fishing boats in international waters in the northern Aegean Sea, according to a statement released by the Turkish Armed Forces on Nov. 11.

The Greek boats were making close and fast maneuvers to prevent the Turkish boats from fishing, after which the Turkish security forces immediately arrived at the scene, the statement said.

The security forces intervened and the Greek security forces were sent away, it added.
