Torun Eriksen at Borusan Music House
Norwegian jazz singer Torun Eriksen is giving a concert Feb. 25 at Borusan Music House. The concert starts at 9:30 p.m. and tickets are available at the club’s main booth.
Having enchanted her listeners most recently with her third album Passage, Eriksen creates a vast realm of emotions, both through her lyrics and her compositions. Her songs are very personal, yet so universal that they go way beyond borders. All feelings and moods; all turmoil, excitement, tension and intuition, all musical moments, whether intensely or loosely woven, each one of them is an ingredient of Eriksen’s music. It is therefore a reflection of today’s world.
Her collaborator in this concert is İlhan Erşahin, with whom she performed at the Bugge Wesseltoft & Friends concert at the Oslo Jazz Festival last summer. Erşahin has partnered many leading musicians from different styles, including Norah Jones, Bebel Gilberto, Erik Truffaz, U-Roy and Bugge Wesseltoft. She is also renowned for his club Nublu in New York, which has become one of the hubs of the city’s music scene, as well as the leading jazz label, Nublu Records, which she founded.
