Tekel’s lot goes on market yet again

Tekel’s lot, which houses its alcohol factory in the Paşabahçe Beykoz district of Istanbul, is on sale again, with five firms having submitted bids. 

The five interested firms include Siyah Kalem Mühendislik, Özyazıcı İnşaat Elektrik, Torunlar Gayrimenkul, Fernas İnşaat and Asitane Gayrimenkul. 

The first privatization tender for the alcohol factory took place in 2009, but the privatization board cancelled it, claiming that the bids were too low. A second tender took place the same year and the winner was As Asya Gayrimenkul, but the tender was cancelled once more when the company was unable to pay the 303 million Turkish Liras price tag.
