Police protection provided to 9,000 women in Turkey

A total of 8,908 women are being protected by the police for their own safety across Turkey. Adana tops the list of cities where women are provided protection, with a total of 2,315 protected women, followed by İzmir, with 1,372 women. Kayseri comes in third, with 1,350 women.

The number of protected women in Istanbul is 245, while in Ankara it is 42. In Konya, some 1,144 women are provided police protection while in Zonguldak the number is 387. In Batman, 313 are currently under protection.
