PKK kidnaps two engineers in southeastern Turkey: Governor

Militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) kidnapped two engineers working on a project at a stone quarry at the southeastern province of Bitlis, according to an official statement of the governor’s office.

The Bitlis Governorship stated that the kidnapping occurred around 8:30 p.m. on June 21 when two militants showed up at the site, near Örenlik village, and forced two engineers, identified as A.A. and E.İ, into a vehicle and then drove away.

Both were construction engineers, according to report.

The statement further said the investigations were continuing on the matter.
