CHP leader meets US ambassador

U.S. Ambassador to Turkey John Bass paid a courtesy visit to Republican People’s Party (CHP) head Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to mark the start of the new legislative year in Ankara on Dec. 10, the party said in a statement. 

Kılıçdaroğlu and Bass exchanged their views on prospects for a new constitution and fundamental rights and freedoms, especially freedom of the media, according to the statement. 

The CHP head also expressed his views on current developments in the Middle East, it added. 

CHP Vice Chairman Faik Öztrak and CHP deputy Öztürk Yılmaz accompanied Kılıçdaroğlu during the meeting.
