The Asian and European sides of Istanbul will be connected with a cable car project that is planned to carry 6,000 people hourly and 100,000 people daily. The project was sent to Mayor Kadir Topbaş for approval, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality said.

The cable car will be located between the Asian side’s Çamlıca Hill and the European side’s Etiler district and will cover two kilometers.

However the project’s calendar was not detailed by the municipality.

There are two cable cars in Istanbul at present, one in Eyüp’s Pierre Loti neighborhood and a second in Beşiktaş district’s Maçka neighborhood.
