Bursaspor announced yesterday the signing of Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand on a loan deal.

The 27-year-old defender, who is brother of Manchester United and England player Rio Ferdinand, will be at Bursaspor until the end of the season.

In a statement posted on its website yesterday, the top-flight Turkish club said Ferdinand had agreed to the terms of a loan deal that includes the possibility for Bursaspor to buy the player at the end of the season.

Ferdinand will join fellow English goalkeeper Scott Carson at Bursaspor, who is currently seventh in the Super League. The Crocs have fallen far from their expectations this season, and on Jan. 27, coach Ertuğrul Sağlam, who was at the helm when they won the league title in 2010, announced his resignation.
