Azade Köker’ solo exhibition in Ankara Ankara’s Gallery Nev is hosting an exhibition of works by sculptor Azade Köker, who is famous for her use of different techniques. Köker’s “Bathsheba” recently sold at auction in London for more than the high estimate, fetching 55,250 pounds. Köker was born in Istanbul in 1949, and graduated from the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Art in 1971. She continued her studies at the Berlin School of Fine Arts in the department of industrial design from 1973-1976, and in the sculpture department of the same school from 1976-1979. In 1978, she opened her own workshop in Berlin. Since 1992, she has taught at several universities in Germany, and is now a professor at the Braunschweig Technical University. Her first exhibitions were held in 1980 in Hannover, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart. She has had many exhibitions not only in Germany and Turkey, but also in other countries.
