Violence against women has taken another life in Turkey, after the body of a woman was found on a side road off a highway in the Central Anatolian province of Konya on April 25.The victim, identified only as Ö.I., was stabbed six times after being severely beaten, doctors have said.
An investigation has been launched to find the assailant, while the motives remain unclear.
Officials said the mother of the dead woman had notified police that her daughter was missing a few hours before the body was found.
Ö.I. had moved to her parents house with her two daughters aged nine and seven-years-old after divorcing from her husband, police said. She was working as a janitor in a local company. Her body has been sent to the forensics institute for an autopsy.
