Turkish films in New York again

NEW YORK
The New York Eurasian Film Festival will be offering free film screenings of offerings from Turkey and beyond to the public at the St. Francis College’s Founders Hall until May 24. The largest showcase in the United States for feature, short, documentary, and animation films from the Eurasian continent, the festival is an event devoted to promoting great cultural interaction between the U.S. and Eurasian countries, while the program highlights a selection of films that strongly reflect, revive, newly interpret, or celebrate important aspects of cultural heritage. The festival’s emphasis is on the artistic achievements taking place at the crossroads of Eurasia, where the culture and art of Eastern Europe, Asia, Central Asia, Turkey, Poland and the Balkan republics, inform and cross-fertilize one another. The festival program also presents films that are being screened in the U.S. for the very first time.

This year, the festival will bring to New York more than 25 films from many countries, including Turkey, which will screen 20 films. The screening times are 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., while the festival will continue until May 24.
