Three workers killed in water pipe installation in Central Anatolian town

Three workers who were installing a water pipeline in the Yıldızeli district of the Central Anatolian province of Sivas were killed on Dec. 29 as a result of a landslide.The landslide occurred when the workers were installing of water evacuation pipeline at the Nevruz Dam around 3 p.m.
The three workers, identified as Kalender Ballı, his brother, Muhterem Ballı, and Murat Kıratlı, were crushed between earth from the landslide and the pipe they were working inside. Rescue teams managed to reach the dead bodies of the workers after an hour of rescue efforts.
An investigation into the incident has been opened.
