Police officer killed in Turkey’s southeast

One police officer was killed on Feb. 8 in an armed attack in the Yüksekova district of the southeastern province of Hakkari.

Unknown assailants attacked the unidentified police officer, who was in civilian clothes, as he was leaving a work center in the district. The police officer was rushed to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

An operation has been launched to apprehend those responsible for the attack.
